2024 Dancer – TOM KAMMERDENER

Tom has called Florida his home since 1991. Born in Brooklyn New York, Tom grew up with the values of community service thanks to his Mom, who cared for every aging relative and volunteered for various causes in their community. Those values have guided him through his career. Of course, the other Great influence in Tom’s life is his wife of 34 years Kelly, who has worked for Health First as a Registered Nurse for 32 years. They have two Son’s, Ryan who is a Pharmacist with Publix and Cody who is a Supervisor at L3Harris both live in Brevard County. Tom is a passionate sport fan, a passion he shares with his family.  Visiting every major league baseball park is on their bucket list.

Tom joined the Health First team in 1993 as an Operations Manager and was key to the creation and implementation of various programs. He earned his MBA in Human Resource Management at the age of 40. He was the recipient of the Annual Presidents award for Holmes Regional Medical Center in 2010 and a three-time recipient of Gallup Organization World class leader award for employee satisfaction, Tom has always put the wellness of his employees as a priority when leading.

In 2012, Tom joined Aging Matters in Brevard as the Program Director of the Brevard Senior Nutrition Program then moving to Senior Director of Operations for the Agency. Being able to affect the seniors of Brevard has been a rewarding experience and one that motivates him every day to continue to be an advocate for seniors. In 2018, he received 211 Brevard “Stars of the Space Coast” Lodestar award and in 2021 he was given the “Heroes Among Us” award by the American Red Cross of Central Florida. In 2022 Tom accepted the position of President/CEO of Aging Matters in Brevard.

“Every day I’m inspired by the selfless passion our staff and volunteers demonstrate in order to achieve our mission of serving the aging citizens of Brevard”.

Tom has never danced beyond “slow dancing” with his wife occasionally at weddings. He is willing to lay everything out there to help the Seniors of Aging Matters with the money raised by this extraordinary event. Please support our efforts to FEED THE NEED of Brevard County Seniors! We can’t do it without your help!
